ARICHITECTURAL COMPOUND
In 1729 the map of Ughi showed the toponym of Rio de le Romite and indicated the monastery, surrounded by high and strong walls, situated on the piece of land between the course of the homonymous waters of Rio Malpaga and Rio Terà Ognissanti. At that time the building complex was extended within the limits that, substantially, maintain the same today.

THE INNER COURTYARDS
In 1929 the monastery became a big school complex. Needs were different and space for a gymnasium was required. So on 11th November a new hall, entitled “Divine Providence", was inaugurated for sports activities and games.
With the construction of this big gymnasium, the great inner courtyard of the monastery was divided into two smaller courtyards.
For various reasons the school was closed and from 1998 to 2000 the whole complex was restructured to make it suitable for giving hospitality to university students and guests.
THE CHURCH
OF "JESUS, JOSEPH AND MARY"
The Church.
The architecture of the Church is attributed to the painter and architect Giovanni Baptist Lambranzi, who worked in Venice between 1666 and the 1695.
The outside of the Church, simple and sober, is in contrast with the inside which is richly decorated, due to lack of money on one hand and also because during the Baroque period it was considered important to surprise the visitor who entered the Church.
The Church interior
On the ceiling, in the centre of the nave, there is a painting of the crowning of the Virgin and, at the corners, the four Evangelists, attributed to the school of Balestra. Two oval paintings, showing the “Resurrection” and “the supper in Emmaus”, are on the ceilings of the choir stalls situated on both sides of the high altar.
THE CHOIR STALLS
The choir stalls are decorated in wooden and gold polychrome representing the “Our Lady of Mercy” and may be dated to the beginning of XV century.
